MILK DONOR SCREENING ASSISTANT

PART-TIME POSITION AVAILABLE - 20 to 24 hours per week

Northwest Mothers Milk Bank is a community-based, not-for-profit, human milk bank affiliated with the Human Milk Banking Association of North America, serving hospitals and families in Oregon, Washington and beyond.  Our Mission is to improve the health and survival of the Northwest’s most vulnerable babies.  Based in Portland, Oregon we carry out our mission through the safe collection and distribution of human donor milk, education, advocacy and research.

Northwest Mothers Milk Bank is looking for someone who can consistently deliver positive, outstanding customer service on the phone and in-person. The primary job function is to interact with potential milk donors, assisting them through the screening process and assuring swift management of records. This position requires a Lactation Consultant accreditation.


Job Responsibilities Include (but are not limited too):
•Customer Service skills; answering phones in a busy office environment
•Ability to build on-going relationships with milk donors
•Greet donors for milk drop-offs; basic photography, facility tours and record keeping
•Assist with milk donation intake and required documentation
•Assist with special projects and donor outreach events as needed
•Daily tasks shall include:
       Assisting with basic reception; fielding calls, performing donor intake and health screening
       Creating charts, labels and updating communications; management of filing system
       Answering Milk Donor Email throughout the day; answering requests, downloading and printing forms, communicating with donors
•Duties as assigned


Job Requirements:
Current IBCLC accreditation
Bilingual, preferred
•Strong organizational skills; ability to multi-task
•Strong customer service skills
•Strong computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
•Schedule flexibility, some pre-scheduled weekend events required.
