June Winfield has served on the Board since 2008 as one of the Founding Directors. It has been her pleasure to work in our local Portland community to raise awareness of the need for and the benefits of a Northwest Mothers Milk Bank, and an even greater pleasure to see the fruition of the Grand Opening of NWMMB in July 2013.
June has a background as an IBCLC and has enjoyed her fairly recent status as an Oregon resident for the past 12 years. She loves the Northwest for its varied seasons, having moved to Oregon from Central Florida. She detoured to Alaska for a season as a National Forest Ranger in the Chugach National Forest, and still has an example of an ice worm from her Ranger Talks.
June loves traveling to new countries, especially the beaches, and collects shark teeth and seashells. She keeps a large bowl of shark’s teeth on her living room coffee table and once had a visitor think they were unusual candies.
