Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Northwest Mothers Milk Bank!
To protect the medically fragile infants we serve, our milk bank requires all volunteers to be current on their Covid vaccination status, and to show proof of vaccination status before starting volunteer work. We also require an initial interview, background check, volunteer agreement, and one-hour privacy protection training. We follow the CDC’s current guidelines for Covid vaccination, which you can review here or here.
We welcome all races and genders. Our milk bank is wheelchair and mobility aid accessible, too. Several of our volunteer tasks can be done with a baby or young child accompanying if desired; just let our volunteer coordinator know so that we can pair you with a task that suits your needs. We love seeing baby faces! Our milk bank has a private lactation room with a changing table and a fridge/freezer for anyone who needs to pump or feed a baby. Our private, all-gender restrooms include one restroom with a baby changing station, too.
If you are wanting a letter of recommendation letter for volunteering, please keep in mind that we are unable to write a letter of recommendation any sooner than four months after beginning volunteer service.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact our volunteer coordinator, Karen, at volunteers@nwmmb.org.
