About the event

Northwest Mothers Milk Bank welcomes healthcare and allied health professionals to this thoughtful

symposium, which aims to provide tools and resources to those who care for bereaved families in their

work.

Healthcare professionals from around the country have been invited to speak on a variety of tough

topics, for which our field rarely receives formal instruction or education. Among others, topics include:

  • Developing a model of patient care that offers support from a place of strength and calm
  • Understanding your role in memory-making
  • Strengthening your workplace's palliative care/perinatal loss program
  • The implications of maternal lactation if neonatal survival is not expected
  • Recognizing the effects of chronic stress and burnout
  • Reviewing evidence-based self-care skills that impact stress and trauma
  • Stories from real families; how their needs were met or unmet

Come curious, leave with confidence— it's okay to talk about it, and your bereaved patients and clients

are grateful that you do.
