Milk to Go
Congratulations on your new baby!
NWMMB is honored to be part of your baby’s early growth and development. If donor milk is available, families can access our “Milk to Go” program —a short-term option of a specified amount per newborn who need supplementation while lactation or other feeding plans are being established. This program offers donor milk up to the maximum volume per infant.
Today's available volume of donor milk is 4 to 40 ounces.

Who is eligible for Milk to Go?
Reasons for supplementation in your baby’s early weeks may include:
-
latching difficulty
-
jaundice
-
early weight loss
-
low milk supply
-
adoption or born by surrogate

Short-term supplementation with pasteurized donor milk in a maternity unit, birth center or home can be a bridge to breastfeeding success. Short-term supplementation can allow time for breastfeeding to become established or an alternative feeding plan can be determined by you and your healthcare provider.
Our Milk To Go program is part of our community-based network of Milk Distribution Sites. A distribution location may be available closer to your home. A complete list of Milk Distribution Sites can be found here.
This Milk to Go program offers the volume of milk per baby specified above and is available to infants below four weeks of age.
A prescription filled out by your healthcare provider is required.
The processing fee for donor milk is $5.00 per ounce. This fee covers all of the important steps to assure the donated milk is safe for your baby. A financial assistance program for families experiencing financial hardship is available in limited capacity. More information can be found here.
